A Senior Financial Accountant is sought by this $ Billion turnover media group in Kent. This is a varied role working within a highly skilled team, requiring someone who is able to apply a structured approach towards balancing multiple demands and priorities.  It will offer hands-on experience in producing Financial Reporting and offer a progressive future to the right person. Main Duties and Responsibilities: 

• Assistance with structured group month-end close.

• Monthly consolidation of group companies.

• Assistance with preparation of month-end management report.

• Involvement in the budget and forecast processes for certain subsidiaries/functions.

• Posting revenue and cost journals as races take place and as part of month-end close for certain subsidiaries.

• Performing reviews of new revenue contracts to assess appropriate accounting treatment.

• Reviewing balance sheet positions at month-end and posting any reclassifications required.

• Liaising with colleagues in various departments, including commercial, legal, and internal audit.

• Preparation of client assistant package for auditors. • Liaison with auditors.

• Ad hoc projects. Experience & Skills Required

Your background :

• You should be ACA or ACCA qualified, with 2 years post qualification experience in industry as a Financial Accountant or similar position and have ideally completed training at a Top 10 firm 

• Experience of performing contract reviews and assessing revenue recognition would be beneficial.

• Exposure to multi-currency consolidations and large group structures.

• Strong Excel skills are a prerequisite.

• Good IFRS knowledge is required.

• US GAAP knowledge/exposure would be beneficial.
