A unique opportunity for a Practice Trained Senior Accountant with first-rate experience in a commercial role to join a specialist advisory firm. Operating across a broad range of sectors. This is a key role within the firm, supporting day-to-day operations. The successful candidate will manage the financial systems, oversee regulatory and secretarial compliance, and provide detailed performance and insolvency finance reporting to the partnership. You will work closely with external accountants, internal teams, and insolvency professionals to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and compliance across all financial matters. This is a sole charge role reporting directly to the Managing Partner.
Responsibilities of the Financial Controller Role:-
- Manage insolvency cashiering across all appointments, including statutory VAT and CT returns, and case bank accounts.
- Lead the firm’s transition to IPS Cloud, managing data migration, functionality testing, and team training.
- Raise and manage fee invoices within IPS.
- Submit annual confirmation statements for all relevant entities and ensure ongoing case compliance.
- Maintain bank accounts and oversee daily and monthly cash management.
- Prepare and maintain cashflow forecasts, monitoring liquidity across the business.
- Produce monthly management accounts, assisting with budgeting and reporting.
- Manage ICAEW annual returns and ensure ongoing professional compliance.
- Prepare and submit FCA regulatory returns, coordinating with internal stakeholders.
Requirements of the Financial Controller Role:-
- ACA, ACCA, CA, or CIMA qualified (or finalist), with demonstrable experience in practice finance, regulatory filings, and management reporting.
- Confident communicator with the ability to liaise effectively with partners, external advisers, and stakeholders.
- IPS training to be provided.
